SSL Security and Secure Website
At Serryline, we prioritize your online security. Our website employs SSL (Secure Socket Layer) security, a widely recognized industry standard. We use 128-bit SSL encryption, the standard for e-commerce websites today. This technology ensures that any sensitive information transmitted over the Internet is encrypted or scrambled, making it virtually impossible for unauthorized parties to access your data. We provide the same level of protection as the most secure e-commerce sites available, giving you the confidence to shop securely online with Serryline.
Understanding "Secure Website"
Web browsers offer two modes of operation: "normal" and "secure." You can determine your browser's mode by examining the toolbar at the bottom of the browser window. If you see a broken key or an open padlock, you are in "normal" mode. Conversely, if the key is intact or the padlock is closed, you are in "secure" mode.
When you browse the Internet in "normal" mode, all information you enter into your browser and all information sent to you by the website are visible to potential eavesdroppers. However, in "secure" mode, your browser encrypts all communications between itself and the server. Encrypted data appears as indecipherable gibberish to eavesdroppers, ensuring the security of your personal information. It is essential to note that only the transactional part of a website needs to be fast. If you encounter a website still in "normal" mode, it does not necessarily mean that the transactional capabilities are insecure.
What Is a Digital Certificate?
A digital certificate contains the name of a company, website, or individual, along with a cryptographic key used to encrypt information sent to that entity. When your browser switches to secure mode, it requests the website to present its digital certificate. The browser assesses the certificate's trustworthiness by examining its issuer. If the browser trusts the certificate, it encrypts all communications with the website using the cryptographic key contained in the certificate. This added layer of security ensures the confidentiality and integrity of your online interactions with us.
